POEM: I Walked With Saints

I walked daily with saints,
as I ate Jesus in the unleavened bread.

On Saturdays I took flowers to Mary
and on Wednesdays I lit candles for Joseph.

I prayed for Pope eating aspirins of hope.
As my manhood grew I spat my thoughts under the mango tree.

I shook my fist as I lay shirtless in the dark
I confessed my dreams to the priest and professed virtues that I never could possess.

Yet I walked daily with saints,
as I ate Jesus in the unleavened bread.
